Hotel was clean and comfortable. The staff couldn'd have been nicer or more helpful!
What we enjoyed most about this Hotel was the proximity to the centre. We also found the receptionists very helpful and they catered to our every need.
Although Hotel Sempione was close to the centre, which was very important for us, it was extremely noisy and therefore it was very difficult for us to sleep at night. We changed rooms, hoping to solve the problem but to no avail. The breakfast was poor; most of the time the food was not fresh and there was at least one instance when one type of bread roll was as hard as a rock! The bathroom in the first room we had was a bit too small.I Think that some of the rooms need upgrading.
The staff was very helpful and engaging. The rooms were clean.
There was a strange smell in our room. We could not determine if it was the remnants of cleaning supplies or if it came from inside or outside of the Hotel. It seemed to get better as the air conditioner circulated the air but it was a minor nuisance.
The possition of the Hotel was excellent. It was close to the station and with in walking distance of the main attractions of Florence.
The room was a little small but no problem.
Small but friendly hotel in a very good location. Close to the station and all the sights. pleanty of nice places to eat in the area with most offering tourist menus from 15 euro.
I likes the reception
There was too much noise
Near by Santa Maria Novella train station. Very friendly personal. Elevator. Excellent conditioner. Free Wi-Fi. Beautiful building.
Very near central train/bus station. Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms clean, breakfast very good. Lift and small bar/coffee lounge.
On a very busy road, but that's Florence.
The location was close to the station. The staff tried to be accomodating and were friendly. Rooms were clean and comfortable. Overall a comfortable and affordable hotel.
The Hotel is literally 2 minutes walk from the Train stations (which is amazing) yet it is calm and not noisy. It is very central, few minutes away from the market, the duomo, all the lovely piazzas of florence. The breakfast was very nice. The staff are very helpful. The rooms are tidy and clean. Very good value for price. If I go to florence again, I would choose the Hotel Sempione again for it's very convenient. We really enjoyed our stay.
The moment we stepped into Hotel Sempione, we were greeted by a beautiful and friendly lady named Benedetta whom later we found out that she is very helpful and accommodating as well. There was another guy who is friendly and helpful, advising us on the routes and timings of the trains and it is a shame we did not manage to get his name. Generally, the hotel is located in close proximity to the train station-Firenze smn. It is also near to pick up/drop off point of buses, in particular the Sita buses, which will bring you to The Mall, where you will find most of the branded goods, not to mention they are relatively cheap. The room itself is not really fantastic. Two single size beds put side by side to make up a queen. I felt the gap between the two while lying in the middle. The room and bathroom are rather cramp, but that did not bother us. Basic necessities are provided for a traveller-safe, fridge, toiletries, hair dryer and tv, items which in my opinion must be provided. Shower is constantly hot, which is good during the winter. Breakfast is typical throughout our stay. Ham, salami, cheese, bread, croissant, coffee, tea, cereals, milk, orange juice and eggs. Hotel Sempione, by and large, is a 'good for that price' hotel. The most important thing to us is the attitude of the hotel staffs.
Wifi signal is not constant throughout the hotel. The passwords are only valid for 24hrs, and we have to renew them everyday by asking for passwords from the front desk. But then again, it did not really bother us.
Near to Florence S.M.N main railway station and plenty of eateries nearby.
The breakfast spread was very limited but the service was good.
Superb staff, both at desk & breakfast room. Nicely decorated clean & quiet single room. Location, near Sta. Maria Novella station put everything in walking distance. Initial concern re some questionable people/places on via Nazionale where hotel sits did not translate into danger & hotel said the bar/tavola cal do next door was fine, as it very much turned out to be. All in all a very pleasant stay!
As ever, the other guests, especially in the breakfast room - loud, older (& I am in 60's) UK group travelers, inconsiderate of others who may like more quiet in the morning.
The hotel is really nice, it was everything good.
The receptionist when we arrive wasn't really nice. But the other that work there was ok.
Totally Florentine decor and very good breakfast.
